HUMAN ALBUMIN:
Human serum albumin (HSA)(ALB)is the most abundant protein in human blood plasma. Human Serum Albumin (HSA)(ALB) is produced in the liver. Human serum Albumin (HSA)(ALB) is the main protein of plasma; Human Serum Albumin binds water, cations (such as Ca2+, Na+ and K+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs.

Human Serum Albumin (ALB) clinical significance: Chronic liver disease such as cirrhosis causes diminished production of albumin and, subsequently, decreased human serum albumin (HSA)(ALB) levels. Malnutrition, severe diarrhea, fever, infection, and inadequate iron intake can also cause low albumin (hypoalbuminemia) without associated liver disease
