Polyclonal Antibody, goat anti-human alpha-1-antitrypsin(A1AT) procedure: Purification of Goat anti-human alpha-1-Antitrypsin(A1AT): Goats were immunized using purified human alpha-1-anti trypsin as the immunogen. To ensure specificity the resulting antiserum was solid phase absorbed and affinity purified off an antigen containing immunoabsorbant

Our Polyclonal Antibody Goat anti-human alpha-1-Antitrypsin is specific for alpha-1-antitrypsin by ELSIA, immunodiffusion and IEP analysis. No reaction with other human proteins is observed.

BULK QUANTITIES of Polyclonal Antibody Goat anti-human alpha-1-Antitrypsin available in 50-500mgs single lot sizes

Custom polyclonal antibody production available using host chicken, sheep, rabbit, goat or other species not listed. Choose your immunogen from our product line and in 5-6 weeks we can supply. HUMAN ALPHA 1 ANTITRYPSIN
Human alpha-1 antitrypsin also known as a1-Antitrypsin, Human (AAT, alpha-1-AT, alpha1 Proteinase Inhibitor, alpha1 PI

Human alpha 1-Antitrypsin or Human A1-antitrypsin (A1AT), also known as serum trypsin inhibitor. Human alpha 1-Antitrypsin (A1AT) is a serine protease inhibitor (serpin) and trypsin inhibitor. Human alpha 1-Antitrypsin (A1AT) protects tissue from enzymes from inflammatory cells, especially elastase and is present in human blood.

Disorders of the enzyme include Human alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency, a hereditary disorder in which lack of Human alpha 1-Antitrypsin AAT(A1AT)leads to uninhibited tissue breakdown during inflammation. It has been reported that this causes pulmonary emphysema and leads to liver cirrhosis in severe cases.

In normal lungs, human alpha-1 antitrypsin protects the lungs from the harmful effects of human neutrophil elastase

The protein is called "antitrypsin" because of its ability to covalently bind and irreversibly inactivate the enzyme trypsin

Human alpha 1-Antitrypsin (A1AT) STUDY: alpha 1-Antitrypsin AAT(A1AT)is synthesised in the liver and protects lung alveolar tissues from destruction by neutrophil elastase. alpha 1-Antitrypsin AAT(A1AT)deficiency is a common autosomal recessive condition (1:1600 to 1:1800) in which liver disease results from retention of abnormal polymerised alpha 1-Antitrypsin AAT(A1AT)in the endoplasmic reticulum of hepatocytes, and emphysema results from alveolar wall damage. alpha 1-Antitrypsin (A1AT)deficiency in childhood are haemorrhagic disease in infancy, cholestasis in infancy, or chronic liver disease. Lung disease attributable to alpha 1-Antitrypsin (A1AT)deficiency does not occur in childhood, but is closely linked to smoking in adults.

Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, panniculitis, and necrotising vasculitis are associations with alpha 1-Antitrypsin (A1AT)deficiency in adult life.REF: Arch Dis Child 2001;85:2-5 ( July )

HUman alpha 1 antitrypsin (AAT) consisting of a single polypeptide chain and has a molecular weight of 54kD. It exists in a number of genetic variants. MM variant is the most common. Alpha 1 AT is synthesized in the liver and it acts as an inhibitor of proteases such as trypsin, elastase, chymotrypsin, collagenase, leucocytic proteases, plasmin, and thrombin, which may be released during inflammatory reactions in the lung. In the absence of alpha 1 Antitrypsin AAT, these enzymes are not inhibited and they may digest pulmonary parenchyma. alpha 1-Antitrypsin AAT deficiency is associated with chronic obstructive lung disease (emphysema) and less frequently with hepatic cirrhosis in infants and respiratory distress of the newborn. Increase in human alpha 1-Antitrypsin AAT occurs as an acute phase response to tissue necrosis and inflammation. Serum level of human alpha-1-AT AAT is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections, vasculitis, and carcinomatosis. In colorectal and lung carcinomas, human alpha 1-Antitrypsin AAT has also related to their invasive and metastatic capacity
An alpha 1 antitrypsin AAT concentration is ordered to help diagnose the cause of early onset emphysema, especially when a person does not have obvious risk factors such as smoking or exposure to lung irritants such as dust and fumes.
Human Alpha-1 antitrypsin AAT(A1AT)is also ordered to help diagnose the cause of persistent jaundice and other signs of liver dysfunction. This is done primarily in infants and young children but may also be done in patients of any age. REF: labtest online.
