Polyclonal Antibody Procedure: Chickens were immunized with highly purified human beta 2-microglobulin isolated from human urine. The resulting anti-human beta 2-microglobulin was solid phase absorbed then affinity purified off an antigen containing immunoabsorbant.

Polyclonal antibody Specification: This anti-human beta 2-microglobulin is suitable for depletion, ELISA and Botting applications.

Western Blots 1:1,000
ELISA coating 1:200-1:500

Human Beta 2 Microglobulin (human B2M)
Human beta 2 microglobulin (B2M)is a component of MHC class I molecules, which are present on almost all cells of the body (red blood cells are a notable exception). Human beta 2 microglobulin (B2M) lies lateral to the alpha3 chain on the cell surface. Unlike alpha3, human beta 2 microglobulin (B2M) has no transmembrane region. Directly above human beta 2 microglobulin (B2M) (i.e. away from the cell) lies the á1 chain, which itself is lateral to the alpha2. human beta 2 microglobulin (B2M) microglobulin associates not only with the alpha chain of MHC class I molecules, but also with class I-like molecules such as CD1 and Qa.
