Featured Product: Lipoprotein(a) Antigen

Introduction

Lipoprotein(a) is a unique lipoprotein that has emerged as an independent risk factor for developing vascular disease. Lp(a) is structurally similar to LDL but contains Apolipoprotein(a) in addition to Apolipoprotein B-100.

Lee Biosolutions manufactures Lp(a) from human plasma for use in research and medical diagnostic manufacturing. Custom preparations, technical support, bulk quantities and aliquoting available, email Info@leebio.com for more details.

Diagnostic Relevance

Normal levels of Lp(a) in the blood are less than 30 mg/dL; however, over 20% of adults in the United States have Lp(a) levels of > 50 mg/dL. Elevated levels of Lp(a) are associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, and stroke.
