Polyclonal Antibody rabbit anti-human FERRITIN procedure: Rabbit(s) were immunized with purified human ferritin in Freunds adjuvant. The rabbit(s) were bled, serum collected and the anti-ferritin was immunoaffinity purified on an antigen containing immunoabsorbant.

By IEP and Elisa, the antibodies react with human ferritin.

Polyclonal Antibody rabbit anti-human ferritin Recommended working dilution for: capture antibody: 1:100-1:500. probing antibody: 1:1,000-1:20,000.

what is HUMAN FERRITIN
Human Ferritin is a globular protein found mainly in the liver, which can store about 4500 iron ions in a hollow shell made of 24 identical subunits. Inside the human ferritin shell, iron ions form crystallites together with phosphate and hydroxide ions.

Human Serum ferritin levels are measured in patients as part of the iron studies workup for anemia and for restless leg syndrome. Human ferritin levels have a direct correlation with the total amount of iron stored in the body. Human Ferritin levels are also indicative of the erosion of iron stores during pregnancy.

Human Ferritin Studies indicate that there exists a clinically relevant inverse relationship between human serum ferritin and the prognosis of survival in patients with primary lung cancer. Analysis of human serum ferritin suggested in the clinical routine evaluation and follow-up of pulmonary malignancies.Human Ferritin Ref.ONCOLOGY REPORTS 9: 193-198, 2002/human/ferritin/polyclonal/antibody

Human Serum Ferritin research reports that individuals with true iron-deficiency anemia exhibit extremely low human serum ferritin values. Additional human ferritin research reports that human serum ferritin measurement is sero-diagnosis of cancer whereby high levels of human serum ferritin which are not related to body-iron stores have been observed/human/ferritin/polyclonal/antibody.

Information on the different types of Human Ferritin(s)
Light Chain (basic)Human Ferritin and Heavy Chain (acidic)Human Ferritin

Human Liver Ferritin and Human spleen ferritin(s) are basic because they are made up mainly of Light (L)chain(s) and very few Heavy (H)chain(s).
In contrast, human heart ferritin , human kidney ferritin, and human placental ferritin are highly acidic because they are composed of mostly heavy(H) chain(s)
